Spring is just around the corner and we have ordered our vegetable seeds and begun planting for this year. We love to grow our own food as much as possible, but we got to thinking maybe some of you would prefer to buy good food without having to grow it yourself. Well, you can have real food fresh in every season not to mention raw milk, fresh eggs, grass fed beef, and free range chickens by supporting your local farmers. Now is the time to begin a search for what farms are available in or near where you live.
Getting to know your neighbor-farmers not only can give you great food, but a lot of great insight into how their particular products are grown and produced. A lot of farms also have workshops and events that are always great fun as well as educational.
Once you find the farms you like, post their names and products on a list and put it on your fridge. Then before running to the supermarket, you’ll be reminded to check with your local food growers first.
Know your food, and know your farmers!
